Comparing the best options analysis software India claims

A search for best options analysis software India needs a comparison of the job, access conditions and cost, not a promised profit winner. This page compares Sensibull, Opstra, Quantsapp, Dhan Options Trader, Kite's option chain and Chartink using seven stated documentation criteria. No tool was tested hands-on, and no payoff accuracy, quote latency or trading outcome is scored.

Facts checked 14 Oct 2026 against 17 sources. No affiliate links. Not investment advice.

First decide which part of options analysis you need

An option-strategy payoff builder, a broker's chain with basket orders and a scanner for the underlying are different tools. This comparison includes all of them because a trader may use them together. It does not treat a missing payoff feature on a scanner as proof that the scanner is poor at its own job.

The criteria below give documentation credit for a specific fact we could establish. 1 means the criterion is supported in the read primary sources; 0 means a read source explicitly says the relevant facility is unavailable. U means the evidence did not establish it, and N/A means it falls outside the tool's documented job in this comparison. These are evidence marks, not quality or profitability ratings. We do not add them into a winner score.

The tools were not logged into, purchased or benchmarked. Screenshots of a strategy built in Sensibull and Opstra are therefore not presented as test outputs. A fictional arithmetic worksheet later on gives a reference for a future comparison without pretending that either platform produced it.

The seven criteria, stated before the marks

    • A. Multi-leg payoff construction

A primary source documents a builder that models a multi-leg strategy's payoff. A basket for submitting orders alone is not sufficient.

    • B. Option Greeks or implied-volatility analysis

The read source documents the relevant option metrics. Inclusion does not establish that calculations are more accurate than another tool's.

    • C. Free-tier data freshness disclosed

A source describes the free tier's relevant data as live, delayed or a stated update cadence. This is a disclosure mark; it is not measured quote latency.

    • D. Historical options-test resolution disclosed

A source states the options backtest's time resolution, such as EOD. Naming a backtesting feature without its resolution does not earn this mark.

    • E. Account and broker boundary described

Sources make the analysed access context and any separate execution route clear. A broker login button does not prove a paid entitlement.

    • F. Annual analytics amount and tax treatment established

A stated annual term and price, or an explicitly free feature charge, with clear access and tax treatment. Monthly equivalents and account-specific unknowns remain separate; a current free charge is not a guaranteed future year.

    • G. Mobile access documented

A provider describes an app or mobile browser access, including browser notifications, for the compared service. The mark does not measure screen usability, stability or feature parity.

The recurring cost table compares access, not brokerage

Keep software fees separate from brokerage, exchange charges and the cost of optional execution services. A tool described as free may be free for a particular broker's clients; that does not make transactions free. A wallet credit also is not the same thing as getting a subscription charge refunded in cash.

The table preserves the billing term the provider publishes. It does not annualise a rounded headline or assume that the next purchase has the same discount. For Sensibull, the homepage's paid monthly presentations do not establish an exact universal annual bill or tax treatment. The broker-funded Sensibull guide covers the entitlement differences and the unresolved Angel One conflict.

Chartink publishes the plan durations and amounts shown below as tax-inclusive. These are provider-published terms; no checkout, payment or renewal was tested for any row.

Published analytics prices and annual access terms

Checked 14 October 2026. Download preserves offer context and unresolved taxes; these are documentation prices, not account invoices.

Every row uses the correspondingly named provider source; Opstra terminal uses opstra-terminal-code. Opstra annual tax calculation uses its own explicit +18% notation. Free analysis access does not remove brokerage. Sensibull paid annual price and terminal Opstra tax remain unresolved.

Sensibull versus Opstra: separate the scenario view from the history test

Sensibull documents multi-leg construction, payoff diagrams, scenario analysis and Greeks. Its help article modified 1 January 2024, still readable during this check, says it does not have a historical backtesting or options-simulator feature. A current scenario curve should not therefore be described as a verified historical test engine based on that source.

The public Opstra pricing page describes an EOD options backtest, alongside other analytics and simulator features. EOD means end-of-day observations; it does not supply the sequence of prices inside the day. Its historical-range wording is dated, so we do not treat it as a current guaranteed retention span. The software-selection question is whether that documented granularity matches the research you want to do.

A live scenario calculation and a historical simulation answer different questions even when both produce a P&L chart. The options backtesting software guide covers data granularity in more detail. No scenario-model accuracy or backtest returns were measured for this comparison.

A fictional payoff reference for comparing two builders later

Author-chosen illustration, not a trade suggestion or vendor output: one hypothetical unit, same expiry, buy call strike 100 for premium 14 and sell call strike 115 for premium 6. Currency units are arbitrary; no Indian lot, market quote, charges or live contract is assumed.

    Net debit
    14 − 6 = 8 units
    Expiry payoff formula
    max(S − 100, 0) − max(S − 115, 0) − 8
    At hypothetical expiry S = 90
    0 − 0 − 8 = −8 units
    At S = 105
    5 − 0 − 8 = −3 units
    At S = 108
    8 − 0 − 8 = 0 units
    At S = 125
    25 − 10 − 8 = 7 units
    Defined maximum gain before costs
    (115 − 100) − 8 = 7 units
    Defined maximum loss before costs
    8 units

What a future matched Sensibull and Opstra build would need

    1. 1

      Freeze the fictional inputs

Use the same strike pair, expiry, quantity, debit and cost assumptions in both environments. Record whether the interface permits manual inputs and which value it substitutes when one is missing. A screenshot from a provider's homepage is not evidence that these inputs were entered.

    2. 2

      Compare the expiry line first

Check the reference points above against the displayed expiry P&L. Retain screenshots with visible leg directions, units and assumptions. A mismatch should be explained by inputs or calculation, not turned immediately into a tool-quality accusation.

    3. 3

      Keep the before-expiry model separate

Time remaining, implied volatility, interest and pricing conventions may change a modelled current value. Agreement on the expiry formula would not establish agreement on those inputs or prove the model predicts a fill.

    4. 4

      Report exactly what ran

A future test should state its date, environment, input support and outputs, then label unresolved differences. This page did not run those steps or capture a screenshot pair. The reference is an arithmetic check prepared for review, not a vendor score.

Quantsapp's tiers add analytics, not a proven edge

Quantsapp's own matrix places its strategy Architect and chain on the free tier, while more IV, OI, backtesting and specialised analytics require paid tiers. Its annual bills are explicit and tax-inclusive, which resolves the pricing criterion without showing that the paid models are more useful for a particular trader.

The same pricing page separates analytics from broker execution and advanced order types. A subscription should not be read as an all-inclusive execution bill. The source lists mobile store links, but this comparison does not establish feature parity, phone usability or account permissions on a device.

If you compare the tiers for your work, name the required feature and check its actual row. Avoid importing a product's marketing language about profitable entries, repairs or signals into an evidence mark. A documented tool can be present while its assumptions, result quality and value for your situation remain untested.

Price and access history we can actually date

    1. Zerodha starts covering Sensibull access

The broker's announcement describes a previous subscription of about ₹7,000 annually and says Sensibull becomes free for its customers from that day. This is historical broker-specific context, not today's paid price for everyone.

      Source: [4]

    2. Sensibull pricing help modified

The help still states free access for Zerodha and distinguishes a general free tier from Pro. The modification date is not claimed as the date a paid price changed.

      Source: [2]

    3. This comparison's price snapshot

Current provider pricing terms were checked. No earlier Opstra, Quantsapp or Chartink price-change date was established, and no invented price history fills those gaps.

Dhan's builder and Kite's basket are different documented facilities

Dhan's Options Trader builder describes current and expiry payoff lines, an IV adjustment, strategy Greeks and saved strategy comparisons. Its support FAQ says all Options Trader features are free for Dhan users. That is an account condition, not a statement about free transactions or an independent service usable with every broker.

Kite's native option-chain help documents OI, IV measures, Greeks, basket orders, initial/final margin and tracking open positions. It also gives a View on Sensibull route. A basket collects orders for execution; the source does not establish that it is itself a separate native multi-leg payoff analyser. We therefore leave that specific criterion unresolved rather than merging the two products.

The plan initially called this row Kite strategy builder. Research changed it to the native chain/basket context supported by the official help. A trader comparing a standalone analytics service with a broker terminal should preserve that boundary. No execution workflow, fill quality or broker selection is rated here.

Opstra's two access contexts cannot share one universal price

The public analytics site points users seeking BSE F&O and MCX data to the brokerage-linked site. Its pricing page requires an Opstra registration before paying for that public-site subscription. Those statements help distinguish the two contexts without claiming a complete list of every current product edition.

The brokerage-linked site describes Definedge demat-only access, an app and a subscription amount added to a wallet usable against brokerage. The annual amount is separate from the public analytics site's annual offer. Tax inclusion for the terminal amount was not established by the published terms, so the table leaves it unresolved.

Keep the wallet conditions with the subscription terms. A credit usable against future brokerage is not a cash refund, and its value depends on the relevant terms and your eligible use. This page does not calculate the credit as zero net cost or recommend opening an account to obtain it.

What to carry from each tool into a decision record

Editorial workflow questions, informed by the documented functions above; not measured product scores.

Where the information comes fromUseful recordDo not infer
A multi-leg builderLeg identity, direction, quantity, expiry, assumed premiums and whether the line is expiry or modelled current P&L.A plotted maximum gain guarantees a fill or payout.
An option chain or broker basketContract, selected expiry, displayed metric units, quote status and actual broker fill details. An order basket proves payoff modelling or historical testing.
An underlying scannerRule definition, scan universe, interval, run time and why the result was considered.A scanner result has already checked option liquidity or strategy risk.

These are author recordkeeping prompts, not mandatory vendor fields. Corresponding source functions are builder, native chain/basket and scans/alerts.

    Sources: [9], [12], [15]

Chartink can support underlying research without becoming a payoff tool

Chartink's authored FAQ describes charts, scans and alerts. Its publisher Akash's reply dated 24 August 2020 describes browser notifications on mobile and desktop. A dated support response describes free access with delayed data, while premium material discusses faster scan updates. We do not turn these dated statements into measured current latency or a claim that a phone always receives an alert within the scan interval.

In an options workflow, a scanner may help define a list of underlyings or a technical condition to examine. The next questions still concern contract liquidity, expiry, leg construction and assumptions. That is why the payoff and options-history criteria are not applicable to this scanner comparison. Other analytics fields remain unknown where the read material did not establish them.

Use the option-chain website comparison for the separate question of fields and data status. This page does not treat an underlying scan, a chain and a backtest as interchangeable just because each can be used before a trade.

Questions the documentation score cannot answer

    • Does the calculation match identical inputs?

No paired-builder test ran here. The fictional expiry reference can check arithmetic later, while current-value models require their own input comparison.

    • Is the displayed data sufficiently fresh for your task?

A vendor's live label or update interval is not a measured end-to-end latency. Read the quote status and relevant feed terms in the actual account.

    • What does your account really pay?

Broker-funded access, special offers, wallet terms, add-ons and tax can change the effective bill. Retain the final invoice rather than treating this snapshot as one.

    • Can the historical result support the intended question?

Ask for data resolution, coverage and assumptions. An EOD test cannot by itself establish how an intraday stop would have executed.

Keep the plan and the actual trade in the same review

A builder's intended debit and payoff assumptions can be recorded beside the fills you actually receive. OneTradeJournal requires manual trade entries and offers no CSV import, broker connection or automatic synchronisation. It records the decisions and behaviour you log; it is not an execution platform or backtesting engine.

Its paid AI can make mistakes and cannot recover information never entered. Use original broker records for transaction evidence and your own notes to explain why the trade changed from the plan. A higher software tier or a better-looking diagram does not establish improved returns.

The payoff calculator is an arithmetic aid using stated inputs, with no broker connection or trade recommendation. This comparison receives no affiliate income and selects no winner. Prices and access conditions need a quarterly check, with fresh evidence whenever a provider changes an offer.
