Trading app rating in India: scores, rating counts and review themes

A trading app rating in India is a store snapshot, not a measure of execution quality. Below are the rating fields and counts captured from twenty official Google Play listings on 14 October 2026, alongside a small, clearly labelled review sample. Apps appear alphabetically; two India App Store captures are shown separately.

Facts checked 14 Oct 2026 against 23 sources. No affiliate links. Not investment advice.

Read the score together with its count

The table answers the trading app rating in India query with a dated capture, not a pick of a preferred broker. On 14 October 2026, 19 of the 20 captured Google Play scores were between 4.08 and 4.79 out of 5; one was 3.35. Each row names an app, gives its score and rating count, and links the official listing. The score is the rating number in the listing’s page data, rounded to two decimals; the Play Store itself shows one decimal. The count is the number of ratings in that same data. The store labels it “reviews”, but most people who rate an app write nothing.

We asked for the English, India version of each listing (hl=en and gl=IN in the link), without logging in. Your phone may still show a slightly different value, because store display, rounding and the audience served can differ.

Use the broker selection criteria for the account decision and the F&O charges benchmark for costs. Neither question is settled by stars.

Every row comes from its own play source ID in the source list. Capture timestamps are retained in the research dossier. Google Play ratings can change daily; the HTML response is evidence of this capture, not a permanent score. No download count, active-client total, outage rate or broker-quality rank is inferred.

Dhan and Sahi ratings need the exact app identity

The Dhan row covers com.dhan.live, the Dhan stock-market app. It does not combine that listing with a separate options app. The Sahi row covers com.aaritya.sahi_trade_app. Keeping the package identifier in the source URL makes a later capture comparable with this one even if the marketing name changes.

The same distinction matters for HDFC SKY and HDFC Securities InvestRight, which have separate packages and separate rows. MO Trader is the specific Motilal Oswal package captured here. A brand can have several products; an overall brand score would hide which software people rated.

The first attempt used an older Upstox package and returned a missing-page response. Its official developer listing led to in.upstox.app, which is the successful detail-page capture used in the table. A missing old link is not treated as an unavailable broker app. These identity checks help explain why older comparison articles can quote different numbers while using the same brand name.

Two separate Apple App Store India captures

Opened 14 October 2026. Apple’s India listing data labels its count reviewCount, while Google Play’s says ratingCount. Keep the two apart; do not add these counts to the Android table.

These are two storefront checks, not a complete twenty-app iOS comparison. Different operating systems and storefront audiences make a combined Android/iOS average unsuitable for this page.

Complaint themes are reading prompts, not findings about incidents

We read the three review texts included in each fetched Google Play detail page and assigned short topic tags. The sample was whatever the store served; it was not a random sample, a complete archive, or a filter of all critical reviews. Positive comments and feature requests appeared beside complaints.

A tag such as “chart controls” means a displayed reviewer discussed that subject. It does not establish a broken chart for everyone. “Customer support” does not measure response time. Comments about order handling do not prove the exchange rejected an order or that a broker caused a loss. We have not independently verified individual accounts of events.

Near-identical text about an app “syncing” while you start, stop or edit an “entry” appeared in the 5paisa, Angel One and Dhan samples. It does not describe a trading feature, so we tag it as repeated template text instead of a topic about those apps. We do not infer who wrote it. Those limitations prevent us from turning the tags into percentages, a complaint leaderboard or an incident history. Use them to decide what to check in the current app and its help centre. For documented controls, the order-types comparison separates product features from user impressions.

Checks a star score cannot complete for you

    • Confirm the exact package and developer

Follow the source link, then compare the app identity with your broker’s official download link. Similar names do not establish a match.

    • Separate account fees from screen behaviour

Use the current tariff and contract note for charges; review comments are not the fee schedule.

    • Read both critical comments and developer replies

Look for the app version, date and described action. An older comment may describe a screen that has since changed.

    • Check your intended order workflow

Read official help for the product and interface you use. A rating gives no guarantee about order support, fill speed or a particular phone.

    • Keep Android and iOS captures separate

Compare the same store and capture method over time rather than averaging different platforms.

Why a larger count still does not establish trading quality

A count tells you the size of the captured rating field, not how many active F&O traders evaluated execution. People can rate an app for investing, mutual funds, onboarding or support as well as trading. The table therefore leaves active clients by broker to a different source-based page.

Google’s own help explains that the published rating gives more weight to recent ratings, and that users can update a rating. Google also says new ratings and reviews are generally held back for around 24 hours before they are published. A score change cannot simply be reverse-engineered into a count of unhappy users. We do not calculate confidence intervals because the underlying rating distribution and sampling process were not captured.

The extra decimals in machine-readable data also do not justify extra confidence in a broker. They preserve the input for auditing and rounding. Small differences should not displace checks of fees, supported products and the account terms that apply to you.

How the next snapshot can produce an honest trend

    1. 1

      Repeat the same detail-page requests

Retain the package, storefront request parameters and captured field names. Save the capture timestamp and raw numeric inputs.

    2. 2

      Compare like with like

When a later snapshot has the same method, subtract the earlier unrounded rating from the later one, then round the change consistently. Flag a changed package or missing response instead of silently substituting an app.

    3. 3

      Keep the missing baseline visible

There is no prior capture ninety days before this one, so every present trend cell is unavailable. Another same-day capture is not a ninety-day history.

Scope and disclosure for this snapshot

This is store data only, with no quality ranking, endorsement or affiliate income. OneTradeJournal is excluded from the ratings table: it is a manual trading journal delivered as an installable web app, and we are not claiming a public Play Store listing. Its product description is not used as evidence for any broker rating.

Recheck the official store when a current score matters. The downloadable table preserves the dated observations so readers can distinguish an old capture from a new one. A future refresh should retain the same method and show a missing value openly whenever the official listing cannot be checked.
